Weather summary for Quebec issued by Environment Canada at 11:11 a.m. EDT Friday 3 July 2026. Discussion. On Thursday, severe thunderstorms caused damage over southern and central Quebec. Wind gusts broke and uprooted many trees, causing numerous power outages. Heavy rains also flooded some streets locally. The following is a summary of the observed data and damage reports collected by Environment Canada. 1. Wind gust speed (in kilometres per hour) - Montreal (airport): 96 - Lake Saint-Pierre: 119 2. Rainfall amount (in millimetres) - Shawinigan: 75 3. Damage reports - Saint-Zéphirin-de-Courval: Roofs torn off, trees broken and uprooted, and fallen electricity poles. - Louiseville: Collapsed barn, roofs torn off and many fallen trees. - Saint-Michel-des-Saints: Trees fallen on power lines. - L'Assomption: Large event tent blown away and many trees broken. - Mirabel: Trees broken and uprooted. - Montreal: Damaged brick wall and several broken trees. - Saint-Dominique: Properties damaged by falling trees.
